This new site was created  to provide a simple overview of radio sailing. This short introduction may encourage you to check out your local club and get actively involved in our hobby. 

Radio sailing is a fascinating activity. It can be exciting on race days or a quiet way to relax on a sunny afternoon. Radio Sailing offers an alternative to full size sailing and benefits from no expensive mooring fees or maintenance costs. It is an ideal hobby for all age and abilities. The principles of sailing are exactly the same as full size yachting and all require the same attention to wind, water and race conditions.Many radio sailors have experience of full size sailing and often combine both hobbies. It is environmentally friendly with no engine noise or fuel leaks to harm wildlife or disturb other local residents.

There are many different classes of yacht to own and sail. Information on the various classes can be found by We will try not to confuse you with nautical terms. You can learn all about these later.

We will try to make everything as clear as possible for you and hopefully explain some of the questions  which are frequently asked.
